Shanghai restaurant Dim Sum has been granted a license to open in Lafayette, Mississippi.
Owner and chef James “Lafayette” Leggett announced the news on Twitter.
He said it’s been a while since a dim sum restaurant opened in the state, but he’s hoping the restaurant can provide a great dining experience.
Legett has been a chef in New York City for the past 15 years.
He owns the Louisiana restaurant, L’Entre les Morts, and the Lafayette location.
He opened L’Enferré L’Fortuna in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2010.
“Lafrance is the place for Louisiana to be,” Leggetts said.
“It’s a good city, it’s a beautiful city, and it has great restaurants.
So, that’s the best thing that could happen.”
L’Enfortuna will open a new location in the heart of Lafayette in the near future.
Leggets plans to open a second location in New Orleans.
The Lafayette location is expected to open next year.
