A couple of years ago, a guy who used to be a Mexican restaurant manager in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was visiting Mexico when he heard about a startup called Mexican Cuisine.
It was about a couple of months after a startup started by a couple people named Andrew and Jannette Briceno was acquired by the same company, a name that didn’t seem like much to him.
He thought, Well, this is awesome.
Then, when he opened up a restaurant in the Mexican capital, he heard from people who had been in Mexico.
He was blown away.
Mexicanos’ customers were all from Mexico, and he was seeing a new audience.
Mexta’s founder, Carlos Cervantes, said he’d always been fascinated with Mexican food.
But after working in the restaurant industry for many years, he was surprised to find the cuisine of Mexico.
The idea of using the local ingredients to make something unique and delicious made him think of his family’s food, which is a combination of Mexican and Asian dishes.
“Mexican food is so rich and so full of flavor,” Cervante said.
“The whole family comes together and they eat.”
Now, he’s trying to figure out how to bring Mexican food to the American palate.
The company’s name translates to Mexican Food, which means “the food of the people.”
So the Bricensons, who opened their restaurant in October, say Mextanos Mexican Cuisine is a way to tell the story of the culture and its food in the United States.
“It’s not just about the food.
It’s about the people,” Andrew Bricenas said.
The family’s first restaurant was opened by their parents in 1990.
It has since expanded into other markets around the world.
They opened their first restaurant in Tennessee, in 2009, and in 2016 they opened their second.
Now, Mextas newest restaurant, located in Chattanooga’s Midtown district, is in the process of opening a third restaurant in Nashville.
Me Xican Cuites owners are now working to bring Mextans Mexican Cuites to the United Kingdom, and the company plans to open a fourth Mextos Mexican Restaurant in Nashville in 2021.
They’re also expanding their product lines to include a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, such as chicken enchiladas, pork carnitas and quesadillas.
“We want to be known as the home of authentic Mexican cuisine,” Andrew said.
