The Santa Monica Restaurant & Wine Bar is “impossible to open” in Santa Monica, according to a new report.
The restaurant, located on the corner of South Figueroa Street and North Figuera Avenue, is owned by a local businesswoman named Dana Smith.
Smith, who is also the manager of a nearby restaurant called La Banda, told ABC News that the restaurant’s new owners, who want to open a vegan restaurant, were “looking for something a little bit more local”.
“It’s not a big, expensive, upscale restaurant,” she said.
“We’re hoping to open it in the city.
It’s a really local restaurant.
It just needs a little more time to make it a success.”
La Banda’s manager, Andrea Vincenzo, confirmed to ABC News they are looking to open their first vegan restaurant in the Santa Monica area.
Vincenz said La Bands Cafe was one of the best-reviewed vegan restaurants in the area and she was looking forward to working with Smith and her team to create a restaurant that “sounds really good”.
“They are very much local and are passionate about food and are going to be welcoming,” she told ABC.
La Band Cafe is located in the heart of Santa Monica’s trendy Fruitvale district, just blocks from the restaurant.
But despite being on South Figua Street, the La Band Cafe’s entrance is on North Figua Avenue.
ABC’s Jonathan Allen reports from Santa Monica that the new owners are aiming to open La Band Café by the end of the year.
They are expected to begin the process of setting up a second location on South West Avenue, next to the La Bants Cafe.
