The city is home to a plethora of eateries, including some well-known names in the industry, but there’s one place you can’t get a good bite in the Portland metro area: the parks.
For some of Portland’s biggest names in local dining, it’s been a tough year.
That includes the owners of three beloved Portland restaurants, The Duck, Red Hook, and the Rose.
In a letter to Portlanders, they’ve said their businesses are in danger of closing if the city doesn’t get better deals.
It’s hard to argue with them.
But they’re also adamant they’ll continue to support the city and its businesses.
They’ve called for more food options, and they’re right: Portlanders love their food, and local restaurants should get more support from the city.
In order to do so, Portland’s Public Works Department needs to start thinking about the food options we can have in our neighborhoods.
In the meantime, we’ve created this list of 10 local restaurants that deserve your support.
It’s not every day you can eat at one of Portland, Oregon’s most popular restaurants.
The Duck has been in business since 1971.
The restaurant has been serving up authentic duck sandwiches and other classic fare since the 1970s.
The Duck is now located in the Old Town neighborhood of Portland.
Red Hook is one of the oldest continuously operating restaurant chains in Portland, with a history stretching back to 1911.
It started as a diner in Portland in the 1920s, and has since expanded to include a large dining room and lounge, as well as a food truck.
Redhook is located at 2145 NW 4th Avenue.
Red’s has been a favorite of Portlanders since the 1980s.
Located in the South End, Red’s serves a wide range of local favorites, such as burgers, sandwiches, and sides.
They also offer a selection of specialty coffees and teas.
Their menu is full of local and seasonal ingredients.
They serve food from a small farm, which makes it a good option for families and small groups.
Rose’s is the first of three Rose restaurants in the city, which is known for its fresh seasonal cuisine and delicious sandwiches.
Rose is located in South Portland.
Rose has been known to offer their signature duck sandwiches since 1971, but they’ve also added more upscale items to their menu.
The restaurant is located on the Northwest side of the city at 4th and Columbia, just west of SE Burnside.
Rose specializes in traditional Asian cuisine, including pork, beef, chicken, and more.
