An Hibachi Restaurant in Melbourne is set to close its doors after a landlord failed to pay rent on time.
The owner of Hibachi Restaurant, who has not been named, has not returned calls for comment.
Owner Tomohiro Okubo said he had no idea the business would be closed when he was contacted by ABC News on Thursday afternoon.
“I’ve had a long time since I bought it,” Mr Okubos said.
“The only reason I’ve left it open is because it’s too difficult to pay my rent.”
Mr Okubop said he hoped the restaurant would reopen in a different location but was confident it would.
“There’s no way to fix it but there’s no reason it can’t reopen,” he said.
