Minneapolis restaurant owners are mourning the death of a popular baked Alaska chef who died Thursday.
Derek Miller was a longtime favorite of the Minnesotans and had been open at least 10 years, his family said in a statement Thursday.
Miller was found dead in his home with no sign of foul play.
He had been ill for several weeks and had not been seen in public since he died.
The restaurant was founded by his mother, Karen Miller, and her husband, David Miller.
His parents also owned a bakery in the St. Paul suburb of St. Cloud.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the family had said that Derek Miller had died of pneumonia.
